Johnny Lewis to Run the Briggs Auto Group / SENA #RIDECONNECTED FTR 750 at Springfield and Lexington Mile with legendary tuner Johnny Goad
Johnny Lewis is set to return to the American Flat Track series for the first time in 2019 with support from legendary tuner Johnny Goad on the Briggs Auto Group/ SENA #RIDECONNECTED Indian FTR750. Lewis, who runs one of the top flat track training schools across the country and internationally, will be returning home from Europe just 4 days prior to the Springfield Mile after a 3-week trip training riders in the Netherlands and United Kingdom.
Despite not competing in the first half of the 2019 season, Lewis has continued to be heavily involved with the American Flat Track series with business, such as conducting media training programs for American Flat Track at the Daytona Short Track - media that included the likes of Forbes. Lewis was also recruited to test the 2019 Daytona TT layout, agreeing to not compete himself and instead assemble a race program for riders including Jeff Ward and Dalton Gauthier at the Daytona TT. Post Daytona, Lewis traveled west to provide track support and testing for AFT at the Texas Half Mile and the Arizona Super TT.
“I’m excited to get back on a race bike, I feel like I've been non-stop since December running schools and consulting for American Flat Track, but it's now time to join the fun and race these two miles with Johnny Goad. I always set high expectations for myself and I know Johnny [Goad] believes in me or he wouldn’t ask me to ride his motorcycle. If you know Johnny you know he wants you to put 110% in, and I'll be ready to do so.” said Lewis.
The two-race program will be operated under the BriggsAuto.com canopy on the team's Indian FTR 750 - prepared by Johnny Goad. Johnny Lewis brings support from SENA #RIDECONNECTED and Tony Westbrook to make his debut racing an Indian FTR 750 on a mile track. “This will be my first time racing the FTR 750 on a mile. The last mile I raced was at the Springfield Mile in 2017 on the Lloyd Brothers Ducati and since then Indian has podiumed every single mile race. I feel pretty confident in Johnny Goad and the bike to put together a strong performance at Springfield and Lexington” stated Lewis
Lewis - who is currently in Europe running multiple training programs for his school Moto Anatomy, and supporting the 2019 European and UK Dirt Track Championship - will return stateside May 21st and then will head directly to Springfield, Illinois. Following Springfield, Moto Anatomy is set to host two training days at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana May 29th and May 30th. Whether you’re a current flat track rider or looking to try flat track for the first time, Moto Anatomy can provide a training experience for you, sign up is open at www.Moto-Anatomy.com
